Good Music: Aloe Blacc

If you haven't watched "How to Make it in America" yet on HBO, you've seriously been missing out. The show is solid from beginning to end...especially the beginning. That's because of the track on the opening credits by Aloe Blacc, entitled "I Need A Dollar". Check out the official video below:

Quote of the Day: Mark Twain

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. "

Sometimes it doesn't even take that long, right?

Life in Sports: Everybody has to grow up sometime...

Hi All,

Here is the link to an article I read on ESPN this morning about former Nebraska football player Carl Nicks who went back and apologized to his coach and Athletic Director for his performance (or lack thereof) off the field in 2007.

Basically, he skipped some classes, got drunk the weekend before Nebraska's Pro day, and saw his draft stock slide to the 5th Round. At some point, however, he realized that he was heading in a direction that he didn't want to go, and turned a 5th round pick into a two-year starter with the Super Bowl champion New Orlean Saints.

I'm glad to see Mr. Nicks take the steps that he did to make amends for his mistakes even though he wasn't forced to. You gotta love seeing someone grow as a person.

Cheers to growing up,

JIP
